Anna Lynne Rogotzke December 12, 2006 - December 12, 2010

I had some doubts this Christmas. Would it still be filled with joy?

Would I still be filled with wonder at Bethlehem's baby boy?

Would the grief and pain o'ercome me as I pondered Anna's loss?

Could my faith support my journey or despair become the cost?

But as Christmas neared, the message of a Savior born to me

Broke through the gloom and sadness as God's message made me see

That there was no loss for Anna – she was safe on heaven's shore.

While I'll miss her dance and singing, and oh, so much much more.

She's home now with her Shepherd, while here on earth we pray

For the time our Savior calls us and then. - “Oh, happy day!”

We'll sing and dance with Anna and praise God's holy name.

Reunited by the holy child who on this Christmas came.

Heading south!

Well, the die is cast, government-run healthcare is passed, and the country is headed towards financial disaster if nothing can be done to undo the establishment of this latest "entitlement" and restore financial integrity to our nation's finances. Wake up, America, before it's too late!

No big bumps in the road yet . . . .

Well, I'm almost 2 months into my technology class and everything seems to be going well. I've been putting a couple hours of homework in each day, but, so far, it hasn't proven overwhelming. In fact, I've kind of enjoyed the challenge. In addition, I'm learning about many applications I can put to work in my teaching and position as technology coordinator. My class project is to create a computer curriculum for our school. Right now, I'm talking with our computer teacher and going online to research curriculums with formats that would dovetail with what she is teaching.

Tears and Justice

Congratulations, Saints! I almost felt bad for Brett, seeing the forlorn expression on his face after the game. Then I remembered the sadness of much of the state of Wisconsin and Packer fans everywhere when he plotted to play for the Vikings and I realized that justice has reigned. It's interesting to note that his last pass for the Packers and his last pass tonight were both interceptions that ended championship runs.

Scott Brown and Brett Favre - ups and downs

The election of Scott Brown in the Massachusetts senatorial election is a victory that transcends party affiliation and lets Washington know that the politics of bribery and secrecy that characterized Congress in the last year will not be tolerated by the American people. It also slows our nation's descent into socialism and bankruptcy. It's time now to elect more people who will restore the values of personal responsibility and justice on which our nation was founded.

And, on a somewhat less serious note . . . . .

As a Green Bay Packer fan, I am appalled at the success of Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings. Perhaps some day I will get over it and welcome my former hero back to Lambeau Field, but for the time being - Go Saints!

Online Learning

Greetings,
I guess it's time to get going with a post for this blog if I really want it to mean anything.

I've started an online graduate class called "Integrating Educational Technology into the Classroom". While I was somewhat apprehensive about taking an online class, after 2 weeks I find I'm enjoying it. It does take several hours out of each day for study and writing, but so far I've been able to budget my time and fit it in. Since the class goes for about 15 weeks, I hope I don't have to cut into too much biking time when spring comes along.
